Aftercare

Weekday Aftercare offers a safe, nurturing environment, where kids are engaged and happy! 

Our aftercare program runs from 3 pm to 6 pm, but we are open starting at 2:30 pm for those who have an earlier dismissal. We support 1/2 days and are ready to welcome the kids at 11:30 am. 

It is important to us that after a day in school, the kids get free play time. Our main focus in the nice weather is to have the kids outdoors with a daily trip to Grove Park. In colder months, when it starts to get darker earlier, we take them to Spiotta Park. When weather prohibits park play we encourage physical movement with team games and dancing. There are hula hoops, skip its, jump ropes...

Our program is child-driven, so our activities frequently change. The children quickly make friends and have tons of imaginative fun. Previous activities have included chess, an array of board games, jewelry making, kitchen play, painting, and car races. The kids love it when we kick it old school and give them huge boxes to play with and decorate. 

To build community, we have pizza and ice cream parties. On winter Fridays, we give the children an option for a movie. But frequently, they are too busy to want one!
